The Santa Clause The Escape Clause

Watch The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause Full Movie: When I saw the first Santa Clause at the age of 10 it had set the standard for Christmas movies for me. Nearly a decade later I could understand why they brought out a sequel – Disney is no longer doing a feature film per summer and they need to pay rent. I saw it anyway and it was exactly what I expected it to be.

Watch The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause Full Movie: The third film I went to see with my girlfriend at a dollar theater and still walked out feeling like I wasted two bucks.

The Santa Clause 3 The Escape Clause

Watch The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause Full Movie: Tim Allen didn’t appear to give a damn about this movie other than that it’s going to pay his cell phone bills for the next three months. Martin Short, as someone else had mentioned, is an acquired taste — a taste that I do not care for and actually found somewhat annoying. I couldn’t believe the original Neil, Laura, and Charlie were brought back though I felt they were used as filler characters more than anything. They didn’t have any kind of situation or purpose in the movie other than to become victims of Jack Frost’s Polar Ice breath. Santa Claus seemed to enjoy the company of his ex-wife much more so than his current one. The omission of Bernard is inexcusable. The “legendary characters” was a bit much and didn’t add to the story, especially the Easter Bunny’s horrible 70’s Wookie costume. The kids playing the elves didn’t even look thrilled to be there, regardless of who was playing Santa. The set from the first movie was huge — outside looked like a dark, expansive glacier and indoors was a gigantic toy workshop. In this movie the outdoor set looked more like the sunny, bubbly Dr. Seuss Land at Islands of Adventure, and anything indoors was inconceivably tiny and elf-like, completely ignoring the fact that the “head elf”, Santa, is a full-sized man.

Watch The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause Full Movie: The special effects were far worse than the first movie 12 years ago. In the first movie, the producer actually cared about the outcome and therefore sunk a large sum of money into the best special effects at the time. SC3 showcases every possible SFX shortcut. The CGI reindeer were pathetic — the cartoony Scooby Doo eyes were just stupid. Just goes to show you that the art of puppeteering is gone for good. The “magic snow globe” looked like a novelty souvenir bought at a convenience store. Santa’s sleigh looked like a poorly-built plywood prop. A lot of the sound effects were textbook cartoon fare…for a cartoon made 50 years ago. These kinds of details do not go unnoticed.

Watch The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause Full Movie: The filmmakers even had the audacity to use actual cut-scenes from the first movie – about 90 seconds worth – which to me is pretty tacky; seems like they just needed some more filler.

Watch The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause Full Movie: The entire movie is supposed to be a story being told by Mrs. Claus to her classroom but the introduction was so short I forgot all about that. I thought the movie was ending just as it cut back to the classroom with about 3 more minutes of movie. I’m glad I stayed for the Buddy Claus scene though – the generic baby with a red scarf on his head was the star of this scene.

Watch The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause Full Movie: This movie was so dumbed down it’s unbelievable. Seeing the first movie at the young age I did of course I wasn’t going to understand some of the adult humor. As I grew up, though, it was a lot of fun to understand some of the jokes that I had missed as a kid, which is what’s so appealing about that movie. In SC3, if a 6 year-old fails to understand something it’s because he’s had some kind of unfortunate mental handicap.

Watch The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause Full Movie: The storyline’s been described so many times by other members it’s not worth it for me to go into. What I haven’t seen anybody mention, however, is that this is a Christmas movie featuring Santa Claus on Christmas Eve and there is barely any mention of delivering toys to kids, much less any kind of action taken in preparation to do so. It’s small, I know, but again it’s the details.

Watch The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause Full Movie: Just chalk it up as another crappy Disney sequel.

Synopsis; Divorcee Scott Calvin is disgusted to learn that his ex and her husband have tried – and failed – to break it easy to their 6-year-old son Charlie that Santa isn’t real. On Christmas Eve, Scott reads The Night Before Christmas… then receives an unexpected visitor on his roof. When he’s startled by Scott’s calling out and falls, the Santa impersonator disappears, leaving only an 8-reindeer sleigh and a suit with instructions to put it on if he’s involved in an accident. Scott does, and is transported around the town dropping gifts through chimneys until he’s taken to the North Pole and informed by a group who claim they’re elves that he is now Santa. Charlie is proud of his dad’s new job, though Scott’s convinced it’s a dream. Until his hair turns white, his beard refuses to stay shaved, he gains weight inexplicably, even for his sudden love of junk food… Now he’s accepted it, there’s just one problem: how to keep it secret from his disbelieving family?

The Santa Clause

Watch The Santa Clause Full Movie: Ever wonder, who is Santa Claus, really? Where does he come from, how old is he? How in the world does he squeeze down a chimney, and how does he get in if there isn’t a chimney? What’s the deal here? Well, happily, the answers to these questions and more are finally answered, as the legend of Santa Claus comes to life as never before in `The Santa Clause,’ directed by John Pasquin and starring Tim Allen. Scott Calvin (Allen) is an executive with a toy manufacturing company, he’s divorced and has a young son, Charlie (Eric Lloyd), who still believes in Santa, but is at an age at which doubt is beginning to creep into the picture. And the fact that Charlie’s mom, Laura (Wendy Crewson) has a boyfriend, Dr. Neal Miller (Judge Reinhold), who is a psychiatrist, isn’t helping the situation any. Neal, it seems, is adamant about counseling Charlie in the realities of life, which of course includes the real scoop on Santa, which doesn’t go over too well with Scott.

Watch The Santa Clause Full Movie: Then on Christmas Eve, which Charlie is spending with Scott, a strange thing happens. There’s a clatter on the roof, and Scott rushes outside to investigate, where he discovers a man in a red suit clamoring about on the roof of his two-story house. As Scott watches, the man loses his footing and falls into the snow on the front lawn. And to Scott’s amazement, it’s Santa Claus! Or at least a guy dressed up like Santa, and he’s not in very good shape at the moment. Lying there on his back, the man hands Scott a card with instructions written on it about what to do in this particular situation. `Put on the suit,’ it says, `The reindeer will know what to do.’ And when Scott looks back up at the roof, what he sees concludes what Neal would probably call an SEE (Significant Emotional Experience), and though he doesn’t realize it at the moment, his life is about to change forever…

The Santa Clause

Watch The Santa Clause Full Movie: And with that, Pasquin goes on to tell the story of Scott Calvin’s amazing odyssey, which puts a humorous, and at times poignant, spin on this contemporary and highly imaginative rendition of the Santa Claus story, which offers much more than merely a fresh face on an old tale. The Santa angle has that universal appeal that will attract viewers initially, but what makes this story really accessible is the reality which lies beneath the fantasy. The relationships examined in this film– the whole situation with Scott, Charlie, Laura and Neal– are quite common in our modern world, and that obstacle in the lives of these characters puts a necessary balance in the story that makes it more than just another Christmas fantasy. It puts an edge on the sentimentality that would’ve been over-the-top had Scott, for example, been a happily married man with a text book family life. That would’ve been good for maybe a one hour T.V. special on a Tuesday night, whereas this story and the way it’s presented is unique and lends itself well to full length motion picture status.

Watch The Santa Clause Full Movie: When you think of Tim Allen, you don’t necessarily think in terms of Santa Claus– his Tim Taylor, `Home Improvement’ persona is simply too far-reaching (there are, in fact, some `in’ jokes sprinkled subtly throughout this film, like when Scott, in Santa’s workshop, picks up a toy tool belt and holds it up to himself)– but it actually becomes a positive here, and another part of the appeal of this film. it establishes Scott as a real person, an average guy attempting to cope with the everyday problems of everyday life. And it keeps the core of the story grounded, which ultimately makes the fantasy work while giving it heart. So, in retrospect, Allen was a perfect choice for the role of Scott Calvin, and in the long run this just may turn out to be one of his most memorable roles (which is somewhat ironic, as this was Allen’s big screen debut), because this is certainly the kind of film that is bound to make a lot of people’s annual `holiday movies to watch’ list, falling into that category of films you can watch over and over again every Christmas season, like `A Christmas Story.’ `Christmas Vacation,’ `A Christmas Carol’ and `It’s A Wonderful Life.’ All films which, though certainly diverse, have at their center the spirit of Christmas along with family values and traditions, and all told in a way that enables the viewer to readily identify with the characters and the story, which is exactly what this film does.

Watch The Santa Clause Full Movie: Eric Lloyd turns in a good performance as Charlie, making his character believable while keeping him positive despite the conflicts which surround him, and Crewson and Reinhold are solid in their respective roles, as well. But in supporting roles, the standout performances come from David Krumholtz, as Bernard, Santa’s Head Elf, and Paige Tamada, who is endearing as Judy, the Little Elf.

Watch The Santa Clause Full Movie: Rounding out the supporting cast are Peter Boyle (Mr. Whittle), Mary Gross (Miss Daniels), Larry Brandenburg (Detective Nunzio), Judith Scott (Susan), Jayne Eastwood (Judy, the Waitress) and Joyce Guy (Principal Compton). An entertaining and ultimately uplifting movie, `The Santa Clause’ is funny and enjoyable and has a lot to offer in the way of family entertainment, the kind of film adults and kids alike are going to appreciate. And it may even make you believe in some things you hadn’t even considered before– but that’s for you to figure out as you watch the movie. And that’s the magic of the movies. I rate this one 8/10.

Synopsis; Scott Calvin has been Santa Claus for the past eight years, and his loyal elves consider him the best Santa ever. But Santa’s got problems (he’s even mysteriously losing weight) and things quickly go south when he finds out that his son, Charlie, has landed on this year’s “naughty” list. Desperate to help his son, Scott heads back home, leaving a substitute Claus to watch over things at the Pole. But when the substitute institutes some strange redefinitions of naughty and nice, putting Christmas at risk, it’s up to Scott to return with a new bag of magic to try to save Christmas.

Watch The Santa Clause 2 Full Movie: The Santa Clause” is a holiday movie that my family has watched and loved multiple times every year. It really captured the spirit of the day in a way that EVERYONE can appreciate. “The Santa Clause 2” was something I didn’t bother to see in theaters, because it’s been my experience that Disney can’t do sequels right. Based on past failures, this could have truly been a terrible film. Luckily, I heard from a friend who became absolutely obsessed with it and counted down the days to its DVD release. She said it was not only, in her opinion, slightly better than the first, but that it was a generally wonderful and very funny movie. Sufficiently persuaded to purchase the DVD, I now can honestly say that I’m glad I did.

Watch The Santa Clause 2 Full Movie: In this movie, the entire original cast returns for a story that’s actually quite clever for a “part II.” Colorful and fun from beginning to end, the humor is genuine, and not the ‘corny’ kind you might expect. Actually, my favorite line is when the “number two elf,” Curtis, says, “The Desantafication process has begun!” He shouts it so loudly and rapidly it’s scary–but mad humorous. If you don’t already know the story, here it is in a nutshell: Scott needs a wife in order to remain Santa forever; the “Mrs. Clause.” His son Charlie is falling into ‘bad behavior’ because he feels neglected and upset that he must keep his father’s secret, when his dad’s got the coolest job of all. While Scott is courting the school principal using magic, back at the North Pole, chaos is ensuing as the toy santa goes awry and develops a persona not unlike Hitler. He whips the elves into long, miserable work hours and is just basically cruel, screwing up the entire process of Christmas by deciding that most kids are naughty and they all deserve only coal.

The Santa Clause 2

Watch The Santa Clause 2 Full Movie: The reindeer, Scott’s ex-wife and Neil, the hilarious Council of Legendary Figures, etc., all combine to make a truly satisfying movie that is a very, very worthy successor to “The Santa Clause.” I am pleased to say, a longtime fan of the original was not disappointed at all. (Warning: The most irritating character by far is Molly Shannon’s small role of Tracy, Scott’s first dismal attempt at finding a Mrs. Clause. Tracy has an unhealthy obsession with country music and bursts into a highly embarrassing singing-and-dancing performance of a Shania Twain song with lyrics twisted to be about Christmas–UNDER THE WATCH OF EVERYONE IN A PUBLIC RESTAURANT WITHIN FIVE MINUTES OF THE START OF A FIRST DATE. Something’s wrong with this woman. She’s one of those, “I-am-not-with-her, I’ve-never-seen-her-before-in-my-life” kind of humiliating freaks of nature whom you’d NEVER wanna be caught dead with in public.

Watch The Santa Clause 2 Full Movie: The scene is funny–still, I dunno about anyone else, but I felt really awful for Scott. I mean, he responded the way any normal red-blooded American would, and then Tracy storms out on him for not “supporting her ambition” when she “put herself out there” which she claims was “not an easy thing to do.”) Bernard has a big role, and is even more likable in this one; he doesn’t like Curtis much, but he’s used to having Scott as Santa. “Chet” is the new, inexperienced reindeer-in-training who is completely horrible at guiding a sleigh–or just flying, for that matter. The Tooth Fairy, who wants to change his name to Tooth Man, Tooth Guy, Molinator, Tooth, Plaque Man, Captain Floss, or as I recall, Roy, is hysterical. “No kid will leave a tooth under their pillow for some guy named Roy,” claims Cupid. Eh heh…it’s probably true.

The Santa Clause 2

Watch The Santa Clause 2 Full Movie: Also, BE SURE TO WATCH THE SPECIAL FEATURES!! They’re excellent. The interview with the Legendary Figures is hilarious. Gotta love Cupid. “Deleted scenes” & “gag reel” are tons of fun. Watch the movie with the audio commentary from Micheal Lembeck as well as the hysterically funny ten-minute “Exploring the North Pole w/ Curtis.” These are too much fun & they give greater insight into the rivalry betwixt Curtis and Bernard. Banana, anyone?!

Watch The Santa Clause 2 Full Movie: So on the whole, it’s a great film. For everybody. I’d see it if I were you. Terrific holiday movie. A new tradition will be watching the first followed by the second each year.
